Was another privilege to operate K3Y/0 during ARRL SKN 2010. (SKCC anniversary callsign)

It seems fitting that SKN is celebrated this way since the SKCC was conceived by a small group of folks the enjoyed SKN and using straight keys and bugs that they... Read More

I traveled to my former home QTH in WV during the contest weekend to visit with family. That prevented me from operating on Saturday. But on the way back to my current home QTH in SC on Sunday, I stopped off at Pilot Mountain State Park, NC, EM96.

This contest produced better results than last year. The event was a good opportunity to finish building my 24 gHz Dish to achieve a new band during this Contest. Thanks to Client, KA7OEI, who was on the other side of the Salt Lake valley, about 14 mil... Read More

Very Strong power line noise prevented me from hearing very much. Add to that running QRP power levels and I never expected to work very many people to begin with. Biggest surprise was W6YX answering my CQ on 144 Mhz CW only to rapidly fade into the S9... Read More

    01/28/2010 | WB3IGR

WOW!!! What a great contest. This year was the best ever from this station. With new antennas for 2 and 432 and 2304 the bands just seemed "OPEN" all the time. I guess improvements do work! We also changed the 2304 antenna from a 15 element looper to a... Read More

  • We awoke on Friday to find 2 inches of snow on everything, including the rover. We pushed up our departure hurriedly and left a few important things behind. Note the step stool leaning against the house on the right. It stayed there the entire contest and I had to buy a new one in Tucson.

    01/27/2010 | KK6MC/R

This contest was a mixed bag for me. Several high points and a few low points. I made my my first meteor scatter contact with FSK441, I roved from 4 new grids, bringing my total to 53 for reverse VUCC on 2M, and there was a small Es opening to the NW w... Read More

For the first time in a decade, the K2QO/r team was subject to scheduling anomalies that led to a Limited Multi effort from my home QTH in FN03ra. My home site was not selected with the expectation of running VHF+ in a serious manner, but It is fine fo... Read More
