In a vintage HF tube type power amp, can the newer carbon film power resistors be used to replace the older style carbon pile type of resistors, without them effecting the amps operating characteristics? Is there any other 'modern day' type of resistor that can be used to replace the carbon pile type, that would not upset the normal circuit stability, or cause the amp to generate unwanted interference or oscillations?
