    Welcome to the San Diego Section!

    Field Day, an Amateur Radio Communications Exercise, which will operate from 11:00 AM, on Saturday, June 28th, to 11:00 AM, Sunday, June 29th, 2008.

    Please see the Field Day Locator Service at http://www.arrl.org/contests/announcements/fd/locator.php, or by typing `Field Day Locator' into the `Search Site' field above.

    You may have to click on the `List by State/Province' Link, and scroll down to find a station in city near you. Click on that station and move the map around, enlarge and shrink to find other station near you.

    The public is welcome at all of these sites and can even Get On The Air at those stating GOTA:yes

    Enjoy Field Day.

    If you are interested in getting your Entry Level Amateur Radio License, Please e-mail me at ad6vi@arrl.org. There are three One-Day Classes (with Exam) coming up. In Escondido, on Saturday, July 19th, 2008, in El Centro on Saturday, July 26th, 2008, in El Cajon on Saturday, August 16th, 2008. The classes are free, the Exam costs up to $14, depending upon location.

    If you are already licensed, please join our Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) Program, which meets the 2nd Saturday of each month at Scripps Memorial Hospital Campus, Schaetzel Building, Nobel Room at 8:00 AM 9890 Genesee Ave La Jolla, CA 92037.

    Park in first lot to the right after the guard shack. Parking is $2.00. Antenna Friendly.
