Description:

The Big Bear Amateur Radio Club was established in 1975. Operating out of the Alpine style village of Big Bear Lake, California, we currently have members in Nebraska, Texas, Arizona, and throughout the state of Califronia.

The club functions as a hub for the ham radio community in the Southwest with the majority of our members in 6 of the 7 Southern California counties.

Our club promotes the fun and excitement of ham radio but also provides service to our local communities in times of a disaster or major emergency.

With some members being hams for over half a century, we also encourage and teach newbies. Holding a "Tech Hour" session once a month and casual coffee house chat once a week, gives everyone a chance to assist in current topics with new and old technologies; open to the public to encourage new and future ham radio operators.
