The Lowndes County Amateur Radio Club (LoCoARC) promotes the amateur radio hobby among it's members and the community. There are active field trips in the spring and fall targeting mobile equipment operation and emergency operation preparedness. Fox hunts are conducted, kit builds and antenna parties are held. There is a group gathering of members and guests weekly at 11:30 on Thursday for lunch and and sharing ideas with members and guests at the clubhouse. A website is maintained by members of our club and other area clubs called "HAMSEATINGCHICKEN.COM" for the promotion of the hobby and sharing ideas and information concerning hams and area events.

We currently have 3 active repeaters with D-star planned to go back into service in the near future. A 2m net call is conducted each Tuesday night at 7:30 pm on 146.625 with a PL tone of 136.5. All hams are welcome.
