The Rural Radio Preparedness Association is an association of radio operators seeking to enhance family preparedness and radio communication options for rural communities.
All of our events, meetings, and activities are open to anyone. Our activities are done to help people learn, have fun enjoying the hobby, and fellowship with others.
We work closesly with the team from South Alabama SKYWARN and the National Weather Service of Mobile, AL to support our areas SKYWARN program. We also directly support the Santa Rosa County, FL ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) and Escambia County, AL RACES teams.
Our mission: To enhance reliable, robust, and redundant communications options for rural communities while supporting local Emergency Management officials and the National Weather Service.
Our Goal: To provide lifesaving early warning during severe weather events, and auxiliary communications after, by harnessing the latest amateur radio technology and assets through a network of professionally trained observers and operators.
