I am restoring a vintage Heathkit HR-20 and HX-20 and plan to convert the frequency display to digital. I would like to know if anyone has seen an aritcle in qst or any other publication on this subject. I thought I saw an article in qst a few years ago on this subject, but can not find it now.
Any help will be appreciated.

Commercial product for doing adding a digital display to old analog receivers--does the hard part of adding in offsets due to frequency conversion.

Thank you Zack, that makes sense, and another thing is that when trying the display on my vintage signal generator that drifts quite a bit, the display is constantly changing.
Thanks again,

I build a digital display for my Heathkit HW-100, using 7400 TTL and using the circuit from the one that Heathkit sold as a guide. I tapped into my HW-2036 for the timebase. It worked good, except for the digital noise getting into the receiver. 73 Don KE8DO
