Greetings;

Recently I tried AM reception on my FT 990.
I tuned to all the AM frequencies but all I got was muddled receptions on all the bands. I did this on various days/nights and different times.

I'm using a coax fed vertical antenna, turned off all the
filters, etc. but still got heavily muffled reception. What am I doing wrong? By the way, SSB reception is great.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to try
AM ragchewing.

Thanks,

Jim,

Press the 2.4 kHz bandwidth button while in the AM mode. That will disable the 2.4 kHz filter and give you a better frequency response.
