What is a serial number assigned to a contest, & how is it created? Thank you KC6BIU.

Most participants use a free contest logging program like N1MM Logger Plus to generate serial numbers.

There are also keyers that can be programmed to generate serial numbers. But, it is much more convenient overall to use a computer logging program to generate exchanges and create logs suitable for entering into the contest.

A serial number is simply a unique number that is used to identify a QSO. Usually, your first QSO is 1, the next one is 2, etc.
