A member asks: I have a couple of Kenwood TS-930S transceivers that are both in need of S-meter pilot lamp replacements. They are no longer available as a replacement parts so I’d like to replace them with white LED’s. I recall seeing something in QST (I believe in Hints & Kinks) where some has provided information on LED substitution for a small light. For the life of me, I’ve combed several years of QST magazines and wasn’t able to find the info.

With all your experience I thought you might be able to provide the info or a reference to the QST issue that contained the information.

Thanks very much in advance for any light you can shed on the issue. (No pun intended.)

I found it with a search for “bulb”

Keywords: LED dial lamp

I noticed in error in the listing, and added some Keywords to make it easier for others to find this article. At one time we had a paid TIS Coordinator to read articles and enter in useful Keywords, but he passed away unexpectedly and his position was left vacant.

Hints and Kinks Search
If you are sure something is in “Hints and Kinks,” but don’t remember anything in the title, I suggest this search.
