Looking for recommendations on whether or not to add a digital interface to my TS440. Just getting back into amateur radio and am not quite ready to purchase a new radio. If I do proceed I'd appreciate specific interface(s) I should consider.

Digital interface technology has come a long way--the latest rigs can connect to computers with a single USB cable.

Interfacing an old radio can be a hassle. New computers for consumers don't come with serial ports that were used to interface with radios like the TS-440. Though surplus Optiplex computers do have a serial port built in, if you want to go that route.

Parts and service for rigs of the vintage can be hard to find. But, there is a lot of info on the web if you are smart and good with your hands.
