reflector under a dipole

I have been experimenting with a reflector under my multi band dipole, which is 5% longer than the antenna has anyone tried this and what was your results. I do use a tuner and feed line is 450 ohm ladder line but will be changing to home made 600 ohm shortly. all works great now but always wanting to improve. Thx John

yes I have used a wire on the ground, It did increase the range about 25%..
Best result was wet ditch with a nvis antenna increased the range from 300 miles to 400 miles. that's about 30% increase.
