On the Contest Rules, it talks about a public "standard algorithm" for calculating the distance between two 6-character Grid Squares, but I do not find that anywhere on the site.

Has the ARRL published the Grid Square distance calculation?

Thank you. The QST Article is helpful for understanding how to map Grid Squares to Longitude and Latitude and vice-versa, but the BD_2004 code requires a lot of interpretation.

Is there no specification of how to calculate the distance? I do understand we cannot just do a straight line between two points.

I appreciate your support.

This has the precise code I needed. Seems accurate. I am now designing the Grid Square conversion to add to it.

Thank you. 73, Byron
