When enumerating frequencies in a discussion, specifically 2m, 70cm, 23cm, etc, does it make more sense to say 2 meters and up or 2 meters and down. What determines directionality? |

It can be confusing to mix frequency and wavelength, even though they are related. As the wavelengths go down, the frequency goes up. Thus, 2 meters and down refers to 2m and higher bands, or in terms of frequency, 144, 222, 432, 902, 1296, 2304, 3456 (MHz) and so on. 144MHz and up also refers to the higher frequencies, 144, 222, and so forth.
