I've always wanted a beam antenna on a 30 or 40 foot tower. Now that I'm retired, perhaps I can do so. I can't put this tower up myself. Just what is involved. What kind of money will this cost?

My guess, based on my 30ft tower, is the tower alone will run $25/ft uninstalled. A concrete base and mount will run abt $200 for a DIY project, a rotor is additional and can vary widely. Consider the type of tower you want, guyed or self standing. I use a self standing 30ft tower from Universal, with an Alliance Roter for an MA5B beam and a 144/440 yagi on a 10ft mast - total cost (did it myself) is around 2k...just my guess though.
