Does anyone have any suggestions on a simple shortwave radio antenna using solid copper wire that can be run up in the attic? I have a one pound roll of 14 AWG and a one pound roll of 22 AWG (a little over 500 feet) solid copper wire and I wanted to see what I could do with it to get better reception on my shortwave radio (RECEPTION ONLY, no broadcasting). I am looking for simple, cheap, and easy as I am a newbie who just got his Technician license and I don't have a HAM radio yet.

If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you in advance!

Hi Steve. Do a little research on the net and you will find many ideas fir indoor/attic antennas. You will want to keep the antenna away from house wireing and metal objects.
