ARRL TravelPlus description mentions known issues with 64 bit operating systems. What are they? I plan to use TravelPlus for Repeaters and TravelPlus Mobile GPS with:

Windows 7 on Dell 64 bit laptop
Firefox browser, version 12
Kenwood TM-V71A radio
Garmin NUVI 660 GPS

Other than the previously documented update incompatibility issues (V15 to V16), are there any other problems?

Will TravelPlus support real-time plotting/display using the the NUVI 660 as a GPS input device?

Will TravelPlus mobile GPS produce a .tpe file for upload to the TM-V71A or is TravelPlus for Repeaters required?

I need to talk with our advertising folks about 32/64 bit on the latest ad copy--I do the support at ARRL HQ and have not seen that issue--I've even done some of the 64 bit testing on this computer at home.

The main issue in using Travelplus with a GPS is the serial port interface--it doesn't yet support USB, as the developers were busy working on the TravelplusGPS product, which required working with Garmin for a couple years before they had a product suitable to sell.

No, Travelplus mobile does not produce .tpe files--you will need Travelpus for Repeaters for to do that.

Thanks, Zack. Looks like The League will be selling me both programs. Things sure have changed since I first started in Ham radio 57 years ago.

I recently purchased TravelPlus Ver. 16 and installed it on a 64 bit system running Windows 7. It definitely has a problem. The program runs but it cannot find Quick Start for First Time Users, any of the files listed under the Help tab, or any of files under the Extras Tab.

By using Windows Explorer I can find these file but the links definitely do not work.

Is there a fix???

Yes, this is an issue with the Adobe reader--you may need to try another version of Adobe reader--which shouldn't be that hard to find--they just came out with version XI.

The problem was most prevalent with Reader X--in which case rolling back to IX fixed the problem.

This thread is 18 months old. My TravelPlus still doesn't work with my USB GPS. When can I expect a solution?

Sorry, but TravelPlus has been discontinued for over a year now.
