When all three antenna elements are the same length, how do you tell which is the director and which is the reflector? The driven element is the center one.

Well..........All the elements should not be the same length. The reflector should be longer than the driven element and the director(s) should be shorter than the driven element. The amount that they are different depends of the frequency and the spacing of the elements. Being all the same length would reduce its effectiveness.
