I was looking at the MFJ 2982 vertical antenna, and wondering if anyone has one, or what the antenna specialist here think of it.
It is listed as a portable, easy assembly. I wanted something for trips " up- north" so I can take one of the radios and get set up fast at the cabin.
I currently have a wire antenna set for 40 m, but its a problem getting up into trees, even with a good launcher. I dont want to leave dipole up as storms destroyed the last one.
The MFJ comes with a ground radial set-up, and mast is self supporting.
Any thoughts or comments would be apprciated.

Instead of leaving a dipole up, perhaps you could install support ropes that can be used for future operations?
