I have an FT-450AT. I recently installed HRN and have a straight through serial cable with usb adaptor. HRN repeatedly notes that it can't read the frequency. Everything I have tried has failed. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Steve |

I've had issues in the past in connecting the '897 as well as the IC7K, but with each radio it came down to matching the software connection baud rate to the radio setting. I'm really not familiar with the FT450 at all, but if it is possible to check the data transfer rate and/or change that on that radio, make sure it matches what the software is looking for. For instance, if the software is looking for 19k rate, but the radio is only set or capable of a 3k rate, there will be issues and missed data conversions. Also, check in your COM port settings and make sure that the computer is assigning the same port number to the adaptor that the software is set to connect to. Depending on the software, some can and will only look for a certain number of COM port assignments. The computer, in some instances, can assign an infinite number to them, but the software will only recognize up to COM 9 or COM 11, etc. |
