In the end, I switched to an unused band thinking that probably removed any xtals from any circuit then swapped them around.

Generally speaking, multiple short sessions are better than single long sessions for learning anything. In addition short daily sessions are also better than a weekly long session. One reason for this is that you rely less on short term memory with shorter sessions.

Hi All,

Based on my question, you can probably tell I'm new to the concept. I understand that a key is used to turn the transmitter on and off. How does that result in the tones I hear on my receiver from distant stations? I don't see how simply keying up a transmitter produces the result heard on a receiver.

Cheers,
Chris

I've got a drake 2-B receiver and was wondering if the receiver should be powered down when pulling or replacing or moving the xtals?
