AMSAT-UK Colloquium 2016 Set for Late July

The AMSAT-UK Colloquium takes place July 29-31 in Guildford, England. A full program of presentations covering all aspects of the Amateur Satellite world is on tap for Saturday and Sunday, and a satellite beginner’s session is scheduled for Friday afternoon. Sessions will include updates on the many new satellites expected to be launched over the next few months, including Es’hail-2, which will carry the first-ever geostationary Amateur Radio transponder and provide more than 8 MHz of new spectrum to five continents.

A session on how to develop software receivers using GNU radio, reviews of the Tim Peake ARISS contacts and the STEM results achieved, information about a new 76 GHz satellite project, a review of how to operate in the field, and a lot more in on the program.

The banquet speaker will be Libby Jackson of the UK Space Agency, who worked with the ARISS-UK team during the ISS mission of Tim Peake, KG5BVI/GB1SS.
