ARRL West Gulf Division to Host Webinar on Antenna Zoning

04/25/2011

Periodically, ARRL Divisions will host a “webinar” -- an interactive Web-based seminar, designed to facilitate communication between a small number of presenters and a large remote audience using the Internet -- for interested amateurs. On Wednesday, April 27 at 9 PM (EDT), ARRL West Gulf Division Director David Woolweaver, K5RAV -- along with ARRL General Counsel Chris Imlay, W3KD, and noted antenna zoning lawyer Fred Hopengarten, K1VR -- will present Antenna Ordinances, You and the ARRL.

The scope of the webinar will be an overview of common local antenna regulations that can impact Amateur Radio tower installations, as well as how the local amateurs should approach dealing with local officials. Following the presentations by Imlay and Hopengarten, participants will have the opportunity to ask general questions related to the topic.

Please note this is only a general information forum. While useful information will be shared, the presenters will not be answering legal questions directly geared towards resolving any specific antenna zoning situation. They will not have the full facts of the situation and may not be licensed to practice in your state. If you are involved in a specific antenna zoning situation, you should contact the ARRL Regulatory Information Office via e-mail with a request for assistance. Regulatory Information Manager Dan Henderson, N1ND, will be happy to provide you with information and contacts for your specific situation. Please click here to register for this informative, interactive Internet meeting. For more information on this webinar, please contact Woolweaver via e-mail.
