Carolina DX Association Forms Carolina DX Foundation

09/24/2015

The Carolina DX Association (CDXA) has announced the formation of the Carolina DX Foundation as a non-profit organization under IRS §501(c)(3) rules. The purpose of the CDXF will be to provide financial support to Amateur Radio DXpeditions, specifically those that further scientific research, exploration of HF propagation, and education through public presentations.

CDXF officers will be elected annually in December by all those who have donated to the CDXF in the preceding 12 months. Charter officers are President, Hal Bouton, N4QT; Vice President, Bill Fisher, W4GRW; and Secretary-Treasurer, Cliff Wagoner, W3ZL. The officers will make all decisions regarding DXpedition support.

Initial funding of the CDXF derived from the donation of a radio collection by Frank Dowd, K4BVQ, which netted the CDXA more than $15,000 for DXpedition contributions. “Without Frank's generosity, the CDXF would not be possible,” Bouton said. “We are excited about building on this foundation and adding to it to help fund important DXpeditions into the future.”

Donations to the CDXF are invited from individuals and organizations. For more information on CDXF, contact Cliff Wagoner, W3ZL, PO Box 577, Davidson, NC 28036. — Thanks to The Daily DX via Cliff Wagoner, W3ZL
