Celebrate 75 Years of W1AW with Commemorative Gear

04/24/2013

W1AW, the Hiram Percy Maxim Memorial Station, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and what better way to show your support of Amateur Radio’s flagship station than by sporting W1AW commemorative gear! The ARRL is featuring a limited edition t-shirt, key chain, pin and challenge coin to mark this milestone.

The charcoal-colored cotton T-shirt comes in sizes Small-4XL and features “W1AW” and “EST. 1938” on the front, while the back has the ARRL diamond logo and “Ham Radio.”. The key chain features an etched image of the W1AW building, the world’s most famous Amateur Radio station, while the back has the ARRL diamond. The W1AW die-cast metal pin is perfect on a jacket lapel, shirt collar or a backpack! The W1AW challenge coin is the third in a series of challenge coins issued by the ARRL. One side of the die-struck, 1-1/2 inch brass coin depicts the front of W1AW in color fill, with the words Maxim Memorial Station and W1AW -- Established 1938 around the perimeter. The reverse features the ARRL diamond logo against a hemisphere of the world. The words The American Radio Relay League and Amateur Radio Service encircle the reverse’s perimeter.

Help support W1AW: $5 from every shirt purchased and 100 percent of the keychain and pin proceeds go directly to the W1AW Endowment Fund.
