ARRL Files Comments in Two Matters Before FCC
On Tuesday, May 27, ARRL filed electronic comments concerning two matters that the FCC has under consideration. The first set of comments concern a company that filed a request for a waiver of Part 90 of the FCC rules; ReconRobotics, an electronics manufacturer, wishes to sell and for its public safety customers to use a robotic device that operates in the 430-448 MHz band. The primary allocation in that portion of the spectrum is United States government radiolocation (military radars). The Amateur Service has an allocation on a secondary basis. The second matter deals with GE Healthcare and their request for allocation of spectrum (as a secondary user) in the 2300 MHz band; the Amateur Radio Service has a primary allocation in a portion of the requested band.

Eastern Massachusetts Monthly Section News
Hi Everyone,
The ARRL June VHF QSO party was a BLAST! BIGGER than 2006 & 2007. Six meters opened everywhere, DX from South America, to VE land. To the west coast to ships at sea! WOW!! What a great time!
Like all good ideas, there are those who will not follow the rules on six meters. 50.125.00 MHz is the calling frequency. If you get a call, then QSY up to keep frequency clear.
It seems the new GRAB is to work someone up frequency and stay on his or her frequency. Now, that's not very polite. Another observed poor practice is to go onto the DX area (50.100.00 to 50.125.00 or especially where the exact DX calling frequency is).
When one gets on a new band, one should know some proper procedures, rules and also good operating practices. Eastern Massachusetts clubs and organizations go out of their way to teach proper procedure and practices.
Poor operating practices and attitudes take away all the pleasure from our hobby. When you operate, please try to stay within the guidelines of proper procedures. Thank you.
NOTICE JUST IN: David Peabody just informed us that the N1MNX 2 meter repeater is down. It has been taken out for repair. Hope to be operating soon.
DON'T FORGET FIELD DAY IS JUNE 28TH & 29TH. Hope to see some new clubs as well as some of the old ones!
