    From: Al Shuman, K1AKS
    New Hampshire Section Manager
    26 April, 2008

Greetings from your new (old?) Section Manager. Many of you remember me as N1FIK. I have a new call and a new perspective to my job as Section Manager. As they say: the third time is a charm.

I would like to say thank you to those who persuaded me to come back. Although you should have been more careful for what you wished for. I would also like to thank Sterling, AK1K for his contribution in the past two and a half years as Section Manager.

I am announcing the roll out of a new Section Web page. ( www.arrl-nh.org ) Reese Fowler, W1RCF has been working diligently to provide a quality product with structure that is navigation friendly and can be used as a resource for a wide range of links and topics. There are some links not yet populated and we are working to complete them quickly.

This new site can host a number of new features, that will allow us better exchange ideas. Some of these features are:
    1. Section-wide Calendar of Events- It is our intent to leave this calendar un-moderated as long as it is not abused.
    2. SM Announcements -- This area takes the place of the discontinued Section News column previously appearing in QST.
    3. What's Coming Up - listing key activities such as NEAR-Fest, D-STAR in New Hampshire, Field Day and Boxboro.
    4. A comprehensive list of resource material both old and new. We will be adding more in the coming weeks. Feel free to drop me a line at k1aks@arrl.org with your link and idea suggestions.
    5. Photos of Field Day -- Many of us active in our club's Field Day activities rarely get a chance to visit other club's sites. I will be making my obligatory Field Day trek, taking pictures of interest that will be included in the web page.

If you have any interesting pictures of Field Day 2007 send them along to me. Field Day pictures of yesteryear ( 1940-2006 ). We want to capture them for others to also enjoy.

We will also accept other deserving yesteryear photos of club activities for possible inclusion on the website.

Providing ARRL services to the Section is more than just coming up with a new web site. More importantly I need some of you to step up. Whether this is your first time getting involved or your first time in a long time, I need your help.

The Section Field Organization needs rebuilding, a top to bottom overhaul and that can only be accomplished with the infusion of new blood and new ideas. I am in search of quality people to serve on my Section Cabinet staff. A complete listing of job descriptions can be found at http://www.arrl-nh.org/jobs.html I will seriously consider applicants that have experience and are a good fit for the organization and the position sought. Recommend someone and I will be happy to make the call.

Look for future Section Manager announcements. I will begin making my rounds visiting clubs in the coming weeks.
