FIELD DAY 2008 RULES AND FORMS NOW AVAILABLE

This year, for the first time, the ARRL
has put together a Station Locator to
help amateurs or those interested in Amateur Radio find a Field Day site
near them. According to ARRL Field Day Manager Dan Henderson, N1ND,
many amateurs have been asking for something like this for many years.

ARES standards updated
At the ARES Forum at HRU SEC Mike Liscenco N2YBB
announced a new standard for ARES members in NLI. ARES
members were asked to complete the ARRL C-CE Level 1
Amateur Radio Emergency Communications (EC-001) , FEMA
home study Introduction to ICS (IS-100) and Introduction to NIMS,
(IS-700). This will comply with upcoming national standards from
ARRL and DHS. It was suggested that all ARES leadership (AEC,
EC, DEC and SEC) complete all three levels.
Hybrid Instruction Classes for EC-001will be forming. Check with
your EC.
NLI Section monthly e-Happenings Newsletter and NLI Web
The NLI Section webpages are under construction. Initial update is due soon.
We encourage all the NLI clubs and organizations to support your newsletter and
website site by sending updates on club activities, meetings, VE Exams, special
