On the weekend of June 27th & 28th, the public will have a chance to visit "Field Day 2009", an Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Exercise, which will be held on the grounds of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum, Simi Valley, CA. "Field Day 2009" is the climax of the week long Amateur Radio Week sponsored by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL).
The Ventura Co. Amateur Radio Society (VCARS, will be joined by Simi Settlers Amateur Radio Club (SSARC) and the Ventura Co. Amateur Radio Club (VCARC) to demonstrate amateur radio, practice communications under emergency conditions, and to permit visitors to actually transmit from an amateur radio station from 11 A.M. on Saturday, June 27th until 11 A.M. on Sunday, June 28th.

All three clubs are based in the Santa Barbara (CA) Section. This is the ninth year for the N6R (Nancy 6 Ronald) Special Events Station to be activated from the grounds of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum, Simi Valley, CA during Field Day.
