Hello from the ARRL San Joaquin Valley Section.
We are starting the season of reflections and family. Holidays to celebrate those ideals we hold close. Veterans Day and Thanksgiving are the 2 up coming up in November and both give us a chance to pause and evaluate our blessings. They also show us, in this country, how we can strive for something better and actually attain it but not alone. We have allies, friends, neighbors that depend on us and we on them. As an Amateur Radio operator, I am proud and grateful for those that came before. This allows me to enjoy the hobby and I feel a responsibility to continue it by helping those new to the hobby, and my community, where I can.
I will be looking forward to all those Turkey Recipes! A lot of contesting starting up as the 'Indoor Sports' become more popular. I even noticed in Radio History going back to 1745 when the capacitor was invented, that and a lot of other inventions were started about this time of year too.
Here is wishing you all Happy Thanksgiving, 73 T U . .
As space allows I will enjoy relaying any events or occurrences that illustrates Amateur Radio as a hobby and public asset. It need not be a newsletter, if you think it important, it probably should be here. You should also send your newsletter to the Affiliated Club Coordinator (w6dpd@arrl.org) and the Director (w6rgg@arrl.org) vice director (k6jat@arrl.org) and to ARRL HQ (clubs@arrl.org).

Hello from the ARRL San Joaquin Valley Section.
Busy Month, contests, my trip back East to W1AW. I'm happy to report the people at ARRL are doing fine and are working their tales off for Amateur Radio. My own area had a Hamfest attended by our Pacific Division Director, Bob Vallio, W6RGG. Now we are looking forward to celebrating “100 Years of Wireless in the San Joaquin Valley” next year. Should be a great time to look back at the accomplishments and look forward to the new technologies afforded Amateur radio. And ARRL was there for most of it!
For the whole SJV Section, I have been impressed with the commitments and attitudes of the individual and club efforts and I'm looking forward to improving our EmComm readiness and most important, put the face on Ham Radio in the San Joaquin Valley for all the public to see.
Back to business: Verifying contact information for appointees has been slow, TY for those that responded. Please give me a hand and fire off an email to me, if we have not already communicated. Thank-you.

Greetings from the ARRL San Joaquin Valley Section.
I must express my deep gratitude to Charles McConnell, W6DPD, who's exploits in support of Amateur Radio and The ARRL will shine for sometime to come.
