ARLD021 DX news

This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by
Tedd, KB8NW, the OPDX Bulletin, and the QST Contest Corral column.
Thanks to all.

SRI LANKA, 4S. Mario, 4S7/HB9BRM, will probably cease operations by
the time this bulletin makes its way to the air. QSL via HB9BRM.
4S7DA was heard on 14235 kHz around 0145z. QSL via W3HNK. 4S7WP
was active on 20 meters CW around 0100z and 1615z. QSL via Shanthi
Perera, Box 80, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

MAYOTTE, FH. Adriano, IK2GNW, will operate from here 2 or 3 days
before his Comoros stint, scheduled to start April 30. QSL via
IK2GNW.

COMOROS ISLAND, D6. Adriano, IK2GNW, will be active in the ARI
International DX Contest, May 6 and 7, as well as the week before
the contest. Adriano will operate mainly SSB on 160, 80 and 40
meters. QSL via IK2GNW.

NAVASSA, KP1. The Navassa DXpedition scheduled for late April is
postponed until the last week of May due to transportation
difficulties. Al, WA3YVN, of South Georgia fame, joins the team to
resolve the transportation problem. He may go with the rest to
Navassa.

SPRATLY ISLAND, DU0K. This DXpedition was cancelled at the request
of the Philippine military.

GLORIOSO ISLAND, FR/G. FR5HG/E, who has since probably gone QRT
from Europa, was heard on 40 meters one morning saying he will
return to Glorioso in about 4 months.

SOLOMON ISLANDS, H44. JA1OEM will sign portable H44 April 25 to May
8. Activity will be on all HF bands with CW and SSB. QSL via CBA.

LEBANON, OD. Zanek, SP7LSE, will probably be active for one year,
most likely as OD5/SP7LSE.

ANDAMAN ISLANDS, VU7. VU2AU was worked April 21 at about 0200z.
VU2JPS is also there and operates mainly CW.

CRETE, SV9. HA0HW, HA0ET and HA0DU plan to be on 160 through 10
meters signing SV9/their home calls from May 9 to 16. HA0ET will
operate RTTY and AmTOR, while the other ops handle CW and SSB QSO's.
QSL all three via HA0HW.

SAIL ROCK, ITALY, IL6. Prefix hunters will be interested in the
operation planned by Victor, IK4CIE, slated for April 30 and May 1.
Listen for IL6/IK4CIE, IL6/IK4IDW, IL6/I4VJC and IL6/IK4XQM using a
prefix never before used. Four stations will be on 80, 40 and 20
meters.

NETHERLANDS, PA. During the month of May, 27 stations will use the
prefix PI45, more quarry for prefix hunters.

CORRECTIONS. In last week's bulletin, Jim, AD1C, was credited with
the news item on the pirate signing XU7VK and XU95HA. The correct
news source was Dave, TI5RLI. Sorry Jim, thanks Dave.

Tom, AL7EL, reports having inadvertently supplied the wrong dates
for his upcoming DXpedition to Wake Island. The correct dates are
May 17 to 24. Thanks Tom.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The Helvetia Contest, sponsored by USKA
of Switzerland, is from 1300z April 29 to 1300z April 30, on CW and
SSB. Exchange signal report and three digit QSO number. Swiss
amateurs will also send a two letter canton abbreviation. See page
124 of March QST for more info.
