The Egyptian Radio club isthe third oldest Amateur Radio Club in the United States.  Through the graciousness of HolyFamily we have our meeting room in the lower level of their former school,  a radio room and class room on the third level, with a variety of HF and VHH/UHF antennas.

Our club currently operates five repeaters: Two are located at the 450 foot level on the KDNL tower near downtown St. Louis : 146.76 PL141.3  443.325 PL 141.3 and three repeaters in Edwardsville: 146.79 PL127.3   224.060 no pl and 442.400 pl 127.3   The club curretnly owns three HF rigs two of which are setup and ready to use in our radio room along with two VHF mobiles that are used as base units.  The radio room is our typical Field Day spot, ran on emergency power, primarily generator, but we do have solar panels on the roof and batteries in the radio room.

The club offers license classes and testing as well as the ARRL EC-001 Introduction to emergency communication course and testing as we have a Field Instructor as a member of the club.   The club has close connections with the Antenna Builder's Guild who meet in our class room during the winter months on the second saturday usually around 10 am.  In warmer weather they meet in Long Acre Park in Fariview Heights.

Our meetings are the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 though we normally start gathering at 6.  Holy Family Catholic Church 2600 Washington Ave Granite City, Il entrance is on the east side of the former school ( faces the field) through the double doors and down the steps, a handicap ramp is located along the the south-east side of the building.  We have an meeting after the meeting at a local resteraunt as well.

If you are interested in either a license class or emergency communication's course please contact our secretary Bob Evans AA9FQ@ARRL.NET
