Description:

LMARS is a Special Service Club providing continuing support to the City of Winter Springs Florida, Charitable organizations and local school events. NTS liaison service is available during our SVTN net and an ARES net which is on the air weekly. We educate our youth as well as prospective and newly licensed Radio Amateurs as to what Ham Radio is all about. Monthly Ham Radio licensing is available at via LMARS.

LMARS’ Education Committee visits local elementary and secondary schools hosting Teach-In events demonstrating satellite and repeater communications, and hosts live contacts with astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Students take turns asking their prepared questions with the licensed Radio Amateur aboard the space station during a scheduled fly-over.

LMARS members have a lot of fun at our meetings and at our portable contesting operations. A program is presented during our monthly meetings featuring technical topics sure to be informative. We host a large ARRL Field Day event and also participate in Winter Field Day, Florida QSO Party and 160 meter DXing fun. We are now featuring an annual equipment auction of rigs and accessories in September.

LMARS members are also active with AMSAT. Amateur Radio Satellite contacts are a part of our field operating outings. Our professionally installed two meter and 70cm repeaters offer impressive coverage.

Several of our members volunteer at the annual Hamcation event in the neighboring community of Orlando.

LMARS welcomes visitors and encourages all aspects of involvement with Amateur Radio.
