HAMFESTS AND SWAPFESTS - Section Manager to Make Personal Appearance at Events. Meet and greet Patrick Moretti, KA1RB, your Section Manager, up close and in person. Patrick looks forward to seeing you at your hamfest! 

  • July 9, 2016, starts 6:30 a.m. - South Milwaukee ARC will hold the 51st Annual Swapfest at American Legion Post #434, 9327 S. Shepard Ave., Oak Creek. This is an ARRL sanctioned event.
  • July 16, 2016,  Chippewa Valley Amateur Radio CLub will hold their annual Tailgate check http://www.w9cva.org for more information.
  • July 17, 2016, 7 to 11 a.m. - Wisconsin Antique Radio Club  Swapfest, free admission, at The Terminal, 5917 S. Howell Ave., Milwaukee. Radios, tubes, parts, books. 
  • July 27 - 31, 2016 -The Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club, W9ZL will once again operate a Special Event station from the grounds of the EAA AirVenture. We will operate 5 days -- Wednesday through Sunday., open to all license classes.  We will operate 2 HF stations, one on 20m and one on 40m, a 6-meter station plus local  communications on 2-meters. The club call, W9ZL, will be used throughout the event.  
      We are looking for both "am" and "pm" operators covering each of the 5 days.  You can sign up for one shift or more if you so desire. The event is open to all of the amateur community. If operators sign up for a 4 hour shift, they will be given a daily wristband that will allow them to go and wonder around the Fly-in. Contact Jon Oldenburg AB9AH @ AB9AH@arrl.net or (920)832-9727.

  • Date TBA * *  General Class - The Space Place Amateur Radio Center, 2300 S. Park St., Madison, Holds weekend Technician Classes using the ARRL General Class License Manual, pre-study is recommended. A license exam session follows the workshop.   • W9PE Ham Cram - The course given in two, 3-hour sessions, is available as a free power point slide presentation useful to schools and clubs. Over 700 students have used it since 1991 as an aid to pass the FCC exam. Course Information

  • Sundays, 8 a.m. - ARES/RACES Net.  Everyone is invited to check into or participate in this net which meets on 3967.0 KHz (primary); 3977.5 KHz (secondary). Ron Purvis, WB9WKO, Net Manager.
  • YOUNG HAMS - Saturdays, 7 p.m. - YACHT youth echolink net on the 147.000 W8PIF repeater.  We currently have 120 youth and adult members from 22 states and several countries.  Net is open to all who support youth and ham radio.  Edward Engleman, KG8CX
