The Santa  Barbara Section is the northern-most section within the Southwestern Division and is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west, the Los Angeles Section on the south, and the San Joaquin Valley Section to the east and Santa Clara Section to the north -- both in the Pacific Division.

The Santa Barbara Section is comprised of Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties.

There are 1,085 ARRL members located in the Section. The Section Field Organization is staffed by 60 member-appointees, including the Section Cabinet described above.

Each county is assigned a District Emergency Coordinator (DEC) overseen by the Section Emergency Coordinator. The DECs are closely linked to the emergency services agency in each county.

A section NTS net is active on Sunday evenings at 9:00 pm local. The NCS is the Section Traffic Manager (STM), Ed Shaws, K6SHU. The net neets on 147.000+ (PL 131.8). Visitors are welcome.

The Section Manager (SM), Robert Griffin, K6YR, is available for presentations to clubs and groups on invitation.
