MPARC Special Event In conjunction with The Pocahontas Project (TPP) and Gloucester County Community Engagement and Public Information, the Middle Peninsula Amateur Radio Club (MPARC) will be participating in the Gloucester Collaboration. Our club will be setting up HAM radios on Sunday March 20, 2022. We will begin setting up on the Gloucester Courthouse Circle at the north end of Main Street at 9:00am. Our goal is to be on the air at 12:00pm and running until 3:00pm. Our objective is to communicate with all the existing Gloucester’s throughout the world via HAM Radio communications. With the help from our club members, we will attempt to communicate with three different modes of radio communications. Our first attempt will be using Morse code from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. From 1:00pm – 2:00pm we will be using voice to make calls. Our third attempt from, 2:00pm – 3:00pm, will be using digital data modes to reach our sister cities around the world. We have contacted HAM radio clubs in the other Gloucester’s and their amateur radio operators will be listening and returning our call. The public is welcome to come observe and support our effort. We will have members standing by to share our experience, answer questions and provide insight into Amateur Radio and how we provide a vital role in our community and around the world.
