VE TEST Sessions

  • ARCA, EBARC, and ORCA sponsor joint ARRL VEC Amateur Radio Test Sessions quarterly (dates for 2011: 1/23, 4/17, 7/24, and 10/24) at 0900 hours. Exams are held at Fire Station #1 Media Room, 1605 Martin Luther King at 16th Street, Oakland. The 2010 fee (and retest fee) is $15. For info call 510-846-1587 or 510-741-8227.

  • LARK conducts testing sessions on an as-needed/as-requested basis immediately following the Klub meetings. To request or determine if there will be a testing session please contact Ron Kane, AD6KV (AD6KV at arrl.net) at least a week in advance so that arrangements can be made.

  • MDARC holds VE test sessions on the 3rd Friday of the month, 1800 hours local, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1035 Carol Lane Lafayette, CA.

  • Tri-City VE Group holds test sessions at their location near highways 680 and 880 at Hurricane Electric, 48233 Warm Springs Boulevard, Fremont. The 2011/2012 scheduled dates are: Sat Nov 12, 2011, 0900-1130; Tue Dec 13, 2011, 1830-2100; Sat Jan 14, 2012, 0900-1130;Tue Feb 14, 2012, 1830-2100;  Sat Mar 10, 2012, 0900-1130; Tue Apr 10, 2012, 1830-2100; Sat May 12, 2012, 0900-1130; Tue Jun 14, 2012, 1830-2100; Sat Jul 14, 2012, 0900-1130; Tue Aug 14, 2012, 1830-2100; Sat Sep  8, 2012, 0900-1130; Tue Oct  9, 2012, 1830-2100; Sat Nov 10, 2012, 0900-1130; Tue Dec 11, 2012, 1830-2100. Youth Net - takes place every Saturday at 1400 hours California (Pacific) time . It is on the N6NFI repeater 145.230, - 100. Young hams 18 or younger can also check-in through Echolink using KR6DD-R (271122), N6WN-R (477737), or K6OJ-R. If you have any questions, suggestions, etc., please contact Ryan Lee, K3SFG at K3SFG@arrl.net. Note: Only hams18 or younger may check-in to this net. CLUB MEETINGS (confirm current meeting time and date on each clubs web site)

  • Alameda County Sheriff's Communications Team (ACSCT) - General membership meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each odd numbered month at 1930 hours (local time) at the Alameda County Office of Emergency Services, 4985 Broder Blvd, Dublin, CA (map). On even numbered months, meetings are held at the Eden Adult CSC Building (# 2045) on the Fairmont Hospital Campus, 15400 Foothill Blvd, San Leandro, CA (map), also at 1930 hours, local time.   • Amateur Radio Club of Alameda (ARCA) - ARCA meets on the fourth Friday of the month at 1900 hours (except November and December). Meetings held at 431 Stardust Place, (Bldg 522, Alameda Point), Alameda, CA (map). Shop Nights - Location: 431 Stardust Place, Alameda, CA 94501 (Alameda Point, old Navy base). What is Shop Night? Shop Nights "consist of members bringing in tools, parts, and test equipment, so that they can work on projects together. This gives people a chance to use test equipment they may not own, and provides a chance to learn new skills";--from the ARCA. Shop Nights are planned for the first and third Mondays of the month at 1900 hours. All ARCA members and friends are invited to attend Shop Nights.

  • Benicia Amateur Radio Club (BARC) - The club meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 1930 hours local at Fire Station 11, 150 Military West, Benicia, CA (map).

  • Contra Costa Communications Club (CCCC) - The 'Four Cs' meets on the 2nd Sunday of every month; breakfast at 0715 hours, meeting begins 0800 hours. Location: Denny's the corner of San Pablo Ave and Potrero Ave (11344 San Pablo Ave) El Cerrito, CA (map). The club maintains an active set of repeaters: 145.110MHz (minus offset), 224.300MHz (minus offset), 444.275MHz (plus offset). PL is 82.5Hz for all of the frequencies.   • Delta Amateur Radio Club (DARC) - The Delta ARC meets at1900 hours localon the last Thursday of each month at the Pittsburg Environmental Center (2581 Harbor St, Pittsburg, CA).

  • East Bay Amateur Radio Club (EBARC) - Club meetings held on the 2nd Friday of the month at 1930 hours at the Community Room of the El Sobrante Library, 4191 Appian Way, El Sobrante, CA (map).

  • Fremont Communications Volunteers (FCV) - Meets on the third Thursday of each month, except December, at 1930 hours in the Administrative Training Room at the City of Fremont Fire Administration Building B, 3300 Capitol, Fremont, CA. Talk in on the Fremont 147.015 + PL103.5 repeater.

  • Hayward Radio Club (HRC) - Club meets on the 3rd Friday of every month, 1930 hours local, at 1401 West Winton Ave, Hayward, CA (map), behind Hayward Fire Station #6. The Club maintains 3 active repeaters: 52.76 (-500) PL 114.8; 145.130 (-) PL 127.3; 444.825 (+) PL 127.3. All nets are open and everyone is welcome. Nets on the HRC repeaters: MONDAY, 1930 hours, Hayward ARES/RACES 2 meters net; TUESDAY, 1900 hours, HRC 6 meters Round Table Net / SSTV; WEDNESDAY, 1900 hours HRC 2 meters net / swap meet / ARRL Audio News (all repeaters linked for above nets); WEDNESDAY, 2000 hours, HRC 10 meters Round Table Net, 28.350 MHz.

  • Lamorinda Amateur Radio Interest Group (LARIG) - Meets on the air Wednesdays at 1930 hours local, on 147.540 FM simplex, and in person 3rd Wednesday, Sarge Littlehale Room, Orinda City building. For details, see http://groupspaces.com/K6ORI/

  • Livermore Amateur Radio Klub (LARK) - Club meetings are normally held on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 0930 hours at the Livermore City Council Chambers 3575 Pacific Ave, Livermore, CA (map). LARK also sponsors a monthly swap meet on the 1st Sunday of the Month (March ~ November), at Robertson Park, Livermore. Sellers entrance opens at 0615 hours local time. Gates are open 0700-1130 hours. Sellers spaces from $15 to $45. Free admission to Buyers. Free E-Waste disposal. For more information and directions: http://www.livermoreark.org/swap/swap.html. During wet weather months, the Swap committee will assess the conditions of the site and determine if the swap will take place.   • Martinez Amateur Radio Club (MARC)- Meets the second Saturday of the month, 0900-1100, at 604 Ferry St., Martinez, CA.

  • Mt Diablo Amateur Radio Club (MDARC) - Meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of the month at 1930 hours local at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 1035 Carol Lane Lafayette, CA (map). VE test sessions are held before each month's meeting at 1800 hours local.

  • Newark Communication Volunteers (NCV) -Meets the2nd Thursday of the month,1900-2000 local time,at Fire Station #1, Thornton and Ash, Newark, CA.

  • Northern Alameda County ARES/RACES (NALCO) - Meetings are the first Thursday of each month, 1930 local time, at Berkeley's Training Center / Alternate Emergency Operations Center just west of Berkeley Fire Department's Station #6, 997 Cedar Street (between 8th and 9th, enter on Cedar Street).

  • North Bay Amateur Radio Association (NBARA) - Meetings take place monthly on the fourth Monday of the month at 1900 hours (this varies during November and December). The meeting place is located at Building 46, Railroad Avenue and 8th Street on Mare Island, across from Alden Park (See Map). Use the repeater on 145.310 PL 88.5 for directions to the meeting. The club also holds an informal Breakfast meeting at 0730 hours on the first Saturday of each Month at Denny's located near the intersection of Highway 37 and Highway 29 (Sonoma Blvd), 4355 Sonoma Boulevard Vallejo, CA (map). All club members and their guests are encouraged to attend.

  • Oakland Radio Communication Association (ORCA) - OCRA meets on the 1st Saturdays 0900 hours at Fire Station 1 16th and MLK in Oakland.

  • Red Oak Victory Amateur Radio Club (ROVARC) - The ROVARC meets on the first Saturday of the month on board the SS Red Oak Victory. The location of the Museum Ship - SS Red Oak Victory is: At the south end of Canal Street, Berth 6A (see also the detailed set of maps and directions at http://www.ssredoakvictory.org/contact.htm) of the graving docks in Richmond, CA Directions: Take Highway 580 to Point Richmond, exit at Canal St. and head south. In about 1/2 mile Canal Street ends at a security checkpoint for a large parking area used for off loading newly imported cars from Japan. Just before this checkpoint you bear to the right and follow the road around the car lot, out toward the water to Berth 6A.

  • San Leandro Radio Club (SLRC) - meets at Nick's Family Restaurant, 14660 Washington Ave., San Leandro, on the 2nd Sunday of the month, 0700 local time.

  • Silverado Amateur Radio Society (SARS) - meets the third Tuesday each month (except for the month of December), 1900 hours local time, at the La Siesta Mobile Village, 4433 Solano Avenue, Napa, CA, in the rec room.Please park in front of the room or in the overflow area along the fences..

  • South Bay Amateur Radio Association (SBARA) - SBARA now meets on the second Friday of every month (with possible exceptions in June and December), 1930 hours local, at Hurrica Electric, 760 Mission Court, Fremont, CA 94539.

  • Trilogy Radio Club (TRC) - Meetings every Tuesday 1000-1100 local at the Trilogy's Vista Club House in Rio Vista. Contact John Zwier, KG6RTZ, at (707) 374-5436 for more information.

  • USS Hornet Amateur Radio Club (HARC) - Meets the second Saturday of the month at 1300 local, onboard the USS Hornet, 1301 Ferry Point, Alameda, CA. Visitors should come on board at the Security (Exit) gangway and ask at Security for the meeting location.Send inquiries to ko6no@comcast.net.

  • Vaca Valley Radio Club (VVRC) – Vaca Valley Radio Club (VVRC) – Meetings are at the Elmira Fire Station 6080 A St., Elmira on the Second Thursday of the month. General membership meeting at 1930. The June and December are special meetings and are usually held at a different time and/or place. See the club web site, w6vvr.net for more information. Radio nets are held every Tuesday at 2000 on the W6VVR repeater 145.470 MHz PL 127.3 Hz offset is minus 600 kHz. E-mail: w6vvc@w6vvr.net .

  • W6BB Amateur Radio Club at the University of California, Berkeley (W6BB ARC) - Club meetings are announced on the website. Normally monthly meetings are held during Fall and Spring semesters. We're in the process of rebuilding. U.C. students, staff, faculty as well as alumni, retired and emeritus are invited to join.
