Sunday-9/11/2011

The American Red Cross has released us from the flood disaster in Binghamton, NY. and we are no longer in an active or stand-by alert.

All indications received from all sources had nothing but the highest praise for the work performed by our fellow dedicated Amateur Radio operators.

\When I was contacted, the Red Cross asked us to start the "Magic" that is ours and ours alone. They had no qualms about calling the Ham Community into action when "action" means men and women who put their own lives on hold to better their neighbors in times of trouble.

Thanks to all who went to the area, stood by waiting for the call into action and the many friends who called us and offered to help.

There are no better people than those who give of themselves unselfishly and expect no gain to the betterment of our country.

Hamfest Sponsors !

Generally most Western New York hamfests have well established dates and occur the same weekend from year to year. Please try your best not to choose a date that is already taken or a date you know another hamfest always uses, even if they have not announced their date yet. Conflicting hamfests draw attendees away from each other, and I can't go to both. If you are in doubt check with the other hamfest first if you think your date might conflict with them.   Thank you. 73 Steve Ryan N2ITF, WNY SM.
