01/24/2005 | WR7X This was an extremely slow contest this year, with one of the worst scores I've managed to pull off since the first contest I operated in January 1995. I operated from the top of Emigrant Hill (DN05) about 8 miles southeast of the home QTH so I could use the extra 2500' elevation to my advantage. But, there seemed to be a lack of operators to talk to, coupled with poor band conditions. Ironically the weather was excellent. This was the first contest I have made more contacts on 70cm than 6 meters! Where was everyone on 6?? Hopefully June will bring better luck. -- WR7X
