On September 1st 2019 Ursinus College will be kicking off a year long celebration of its 150th anniversary. In recognition of this milestone the Education Alliance for amateur radio will participate in the celebration by hosting a special event station on amateur radio. The callsign for the station will be W3Z . The "Z" acknowledges the founder of the college, Zacharias Ursinus. The station will be on the air from 10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time to approximately 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time September 1st 2019. The station will utilize the 20 and 40 meter bands. A special commemorative QSL card will be sent to the first 200 amateurs contacting this special event station.
