For more information, email cce@arrl.org or via regular mail to ARRL CCE, 225 Main Street, Newington, CT 06111.

The course prepares students to earn their first Amateur (or "ham") Radio license. There are no prerequisites. This course has 7 learning units, and takes 20 to 25 hours to complete over an 8-week period. Students learn all the information required to pass their ham radio license examination ("Technician" class license). Volunteer examiners offer the tests regularly, and there are hundreds of convenient exam sites throughout the country.

As students prepare for the exam, they are introduced to the diverse world of ham radio activities--from emergency and public service communications to high-tech radio technologies.

The course closely follows The ARRL Ham Radio License Manual. A copy of the book is included with the course.

Course registration also includes a one-year ARRL membership and monthly delivery of QST magazine, ARRL's official journal and the most widely read Amateur Radio publication in the country.

Students access The ARRL Ham Radio License Course from any computer connected to the Internet. Step by step, students follow the online course materials to develop skills and understanding that will help them pass their license exam--all from the comfort and privacy of their own PC.

Course features:

The course and virtual ham radio campus is available through ARRL's partnership with the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium (CTDLC), a nonprofit organization that specializes in developing on-line courses for Connecticut colleges and universities.
