Hurricanes and Tropical Storms - Volunteer Information

General Hurricane and Tropical Storm Information

This page is for Amateur Radio operators who wish to connect with served agencies who need communication assistance during hurricanes and named tropical storm events.

All volunteers that have identified themselves for potential deployment into the Ike impact area are asked to please stand-down. We sincerely thank you for making room in your lives to assist those in need in Texas. The amateur radio role was not one in which human resources inside of the area could not handle. While there is limited support that is ongoing to served agencies and local governments, we do not anticipate making any requests from around the country at this time. But...hurricane season isn't over yet!

Once again, all of us at ARRL Headquarters thank you for your support.

Dennis Dura, K2DCD

Manager, Emergency Preparedness And Response
