01/13/2021 | K9VKYYet another SKN has come and gone, and, unlike years past, band conditions were good here in western Pennsylvania on both 40 and 80 Meters. Although the number of contacts was limited, the quality of those contacts more than made up for the dozen or so log entries. The perennial winter soldier PRC-1 spy radio set did the bulk of SKN duty on 40 Meters, including a 1+45 QSO with former RCA coastal station operator, Harry, WA1GXC, whose flawless fist was a joy to copy. On 80 Meters the Collins 32V2 and 75A2 showed the flag until the eyes started closing in the wee hours. The final hour was spent in a bit of a diversion with the bug boys on 40 Meters using the Collins 32V3, 75A3, and a 1955 Vibroplex Original Deluxe. Here's hoping the kick off for 2021 continues to roll along in a positive manner, and the trials and tribulations of 2020 will be history. Cheers to all. Brian K9VKY -- K9VKY
