2002 ARRL International DX Contest (CW)

02/18/2002 | LY2OX I was never planning to operate ARRL CW this year, but when I got up early Saturday morning to give out few numbers for my US colleagues,I found bands sounding so well ,that inspiration increased. So I v'e spent c.a.23 hours in the contest instead of few. This caused serious dissagreement from my XYL's side ,but pleasure to work in this contest having such a nice conditions should reimburse my inconveniences at home...In any case I don't believe I shall have an opportunity ever in my life(shall I be on the air in the next sunspot cycle?...)to have such a pleasure to work tiny W7..s or W0..s.
Even my modest antennas (KT34XA at 17 m ,vertical for 40 and Alpha Delta halfsloper for 80 and 160)allowed me to feel strong on most of the bands.Highlight was 2 hours constant run on 21027 at 100 Q's per hour.160 was not so good as other bands:just 4 Q's in.Sorry, but KC1XX and W4MYA could not hear me there(but I heared them hardly as well...)
So my part time operation ended with 1 million of points and 1520 Q's.Congrats to K1XM and K1KI whom I managed to work on 6 bands!
CU in other contests guys,
73!Ted -- LY2OX
