2004 ARRL Field Day

Hovander Homstead Park was our QTH offering plenty of room to spread the stations apart.

Of course the CW station gets the biggest yagi resulting in the most points.

The CW station was well equiped with wireless networking,  an FT-1000MP and of course the &quot;Super Yagi&quot;.

The SSB station was located in our local ARES~RACES Comm van. WA7HL is pictured operating a faithful IC-735.

6 meters came alive to provide 30+ SSB contacts into the SW. Even 2m provided some regional SSB contacts. Unfortunately we didn&#039;t take advantage of FM simplex.

GOTA station had major antenna problems and didn&#039;t come to life until 9 PM local time. This non-licensed operator made 70 contacts her first time ever on the air. Give her a license manual QUICK!

Good food was a great motivating factor to keep operators around to make those contacts.

Portable Packet, Satellite, APRS and WIFI attracted lots of interest. Here Jim Kohler, AC7UM and Greg Rehm, KD7RCG are checking out the Packet setup.
