11/22/2004 | KD5OWO The IARU HF World Championshops was my first contest to ever work using my own callsign. My friend Andrew/K3ASK has told me the night before about the contest, and so I did some research on the contest website and got prepared to work the contest. I started hours after the contest began, and worked on 20 meters, going up and down the general portion of the band looking for contacts. I ended up logging around 70 contacts with over 5,000 points. I really enjoyed working some of the rare DX and working HI and AK for the first time on HF. I look forward to next year, when maybe I can get even more contacts.
