2004 ARRL August UHF Contest

08/09/2004 | K2QO/R Got on for an hour on Saturday from FN03ri and another hour on Sunday from FN02qx. Neither spot is worthy of a special trip, but the former is a friends cottage on the Ontario shore and the second is an escarpment a few miles from my home QTH.

The equipment was all QRP and mostly HB. An FT817 was used for 432 and as an IF on 222 and 1296 where I have a W1GHZ designed transverter and a DEMI unit. Antennas were long WA5VJB beams for 222 and 432 and a 15-el Quagi for 1296.

How did it all break down?

Not bad for a couple hours work. What I really need is bigger antennas and MORE POWER! :-) On Sunday there was some propagation and some deep QSB.

Oh well, see you all in September.
