The UHF Contest did not produce any good conditions up here in Maine, but the weather was good. The stuff mostly worked, The libations were cold, and our small crew had a good time playing around with all the bands from 222 up thru 24 GHz. The crew consisted of N2CEI, K0ZK, and myself. We did manage some good 24 GHz contacts, and played around on that band quite a bit, but section totals were low on all bands, and contacts were down due to poor activity as a result of the EME Conference in NJ the same weekend. Darn!
I had fun trying out my K2 microwave IF with automatic band switching directly from the keyboard of the laptop. This ham radio stuff is getting pretty interesting. In a few years I won't even have to get on the radio. The computer will do it for me! My wife will be happy about that. More time to fix the house!! -- K1WHS
