2004 ARRL September VHF Contest

09/20/2004 | K1TR Another memorable weekend operating a VHF Contest atop Mt. Washington in FN44. Average conditions were spiced up with some tropo to places in the midwest, like W8GG in EM88 and KB8U in EN71 on Saturday. A cold front ushered in rain and wind late Sunday, drying up any extended tropo. By Monday morning the wind was howling, making it very difficult to take down antennas. Unable by myslelf to tilt down the mast against the wind with 6, 2, and 432 antennas attached, the wind finally pulled it up and over the minivan, crashing the antennas on the rocks. Fortunately I was not in the way...

As always, a big thanks to the Rovers for all that they do!
