convened again at Beloit (north-central) KS for our multiop SS effort at Alan's nice M2 station. Once again, we made minimal use of the 2nd radio, using it just for mult collecting. Conditions were pretty good. We opted to forego the early pileups on VY1JA and VY1MB and then until MB was safely in the log at 20Z we wondered if we'd made a tactical mistake.... We had 1558 Qs and a sweep for 249280 claimed.

As always this was great fun both in the op. chair, and kibbitzing while off-duty.

made some fun of the amount of wildlife about at night in rural Kansas. Well, this year it wasn't quite so humorous as K0BJ drove his Explorer at 50 mph into an Angus cow in the middle of the road 4 miles north of Alan's QTH. Thanks to airbags Bruce was unscathed but the 900 pound cow and his 195K mile SUV were losses....
